About Cachejay

We built Cachejay because our AI kept waiting on us

AI made it possible to work on more things at once and finish each one faster. It also made the slow part obvious: us. Every chat started with pasting the thread, re-explaining the project and digging up what was agreed. Cachejay is the fix we wanted for ourselves.

A new chat, any AI app

Draft the follow-up to this morning’s pricing call.

Happy to. A few questions first:

  • Which project is this for?
  • What did the client agree to on the call?
  • Can you paste the email thread?
  • Is anything still open from last time?

Waiting on you

01More, faster

AI gave everyone more projects

With ChatGPT, Claude, Cursor and Codex, one person can run several projects in a day: a feature in one repo, a proposal for a client, a launch plan, three calls. Each one moves faster than it used to. There are simply more of them, and they switch more often.

02The bottleneck

The model waits on the person

The AI can write the draft in seconds. Before that, someone has to tell it what’s going on, and that someone is you: which project, what the client said, what was decided last week, who you owe what. The more AI you use, the more of your day goes to briefing it.

03The fix

A cache for the human

Computers stopped waiting on slow memory by keeping a cache. Cachejay does the same for you: what you saw, said, decided and promised, captured on your Mac as you work and kept current, so any AI app reads it in one go instead of asking. That’s the human cache.

What we believe

A tool that sees your workday has to earn that. These are the rules Cachejay is built on.

No bot in your calls

Calls on Zoom, Meet, Teams and FaceTime are heard on your Mac and transcribed. Nobody gets an invite from a bot, and no audio is kept.

Yours unless you share it

Only you can read your memory. A team sees only the projects each person chooses to share; screen text stays private.

Secrets stay out

Password managers, Keychain Access and private windows are never read, and passwords and keys are masked before anything syncs.

New beats old

A project’s status is rewritten as work comes in, and to-dos tick themselves off with a reason. An out-of-date memory is worse than none.

Any AI app

ChatGPT, Claude, Cursor, Codex, Gemini CLI, Windsurf, VS Code and Zed read the same memory. Switch apps and nothing is lost.

Nothing to wire up

No logins to your email or CRM. Cachejay learns from what passes through your screen, your calls and your agent sessions.

0 bots

Nothing joins your calls. Your Mac hears them, and they’re transcribed.

15 MB

About that much memory. It only looks for changes while you’re at the keyboard.

8 apps

On the Mac, Claude Code, Claude Desktop, Cursor, Codex, Gemini CLI, Windsurf, VS Code and Zed connect directly.

Who makes it

Small and independent

We use Cachejay every day to build Cachejay, so most of what changes comes from hitting the same walls you do.

Questions

Why was Cachejay built?

AI apps made it possible to work on more projects at once and get each one done faster. They still start every conversation knowing nothing, so the person ends up pasting threads, re-explaining projects and remembering what was agreed. Cachejay keeps that context current so the AI can read it instead of waiting on you.

What does “the human is the bottleneck” mean?

The model can draft, code or research in seconds, then waits on you for the context: which project, what the client said, what you already tried. That waiting, multiplied across every chat and every project, is the slow part of working with AI.

What is the human cache?

Everything an AI app would need to know about your work to help without asking: what you saw, what was said on your calls, what you decided and what you owe people, kept up to date. More on the human cache.

Is Cachejay an AI agent?

No. It keeps the context. ChatGPT, Claude, Cursor and Codex do the work with their own tools, and they start already knowing what you know.

Who makes Cachejay?

Cachejay is built independently, by people who use it every day to build it.

How do I contact the team?
