Cachejay for Perplexity
Give Perplexity the context of your workday
Perplexity knows the web. Connect Cachejay and it also knows your calls, your projects and what you decided, so research starts from where your work actually is.

Before you start
- A Cachejay account with cloud sync on. Perplexity reads your account in Cachejay’s cloud, not your Mac. Sync is on by default.
- A Perplexity plan with custom connectors: Pro, Max or Enterprise. On Enterprise, your admin decides whether members can add their own.
- Perplexity on the web, to add the connector.
Connect Perplexity
- In Perplexity on the web, open Plugins in the sidebar (or Customize › Connectors), then Add custom › Connector › Add MCP connector.
- Choose Remote. Name it Cachejay, enter
https://cachejay.com/mcpas the MCP server URL, and choose OAuth 2.0. No client ID or secret is needed: Cachejay registers Perplexity on its own. - Tick the acknowledgement and select Add. Then select the Cachejay card to sign in: enter your Cachejay email and the 6-digit code we send.
- On the access screen, choose whether Perplexity may change Cachejay data. Then ask a question whose answer you already know.

Good first questions
- “What did I agree with [client] on our last call? Quote it.”
- “Research [competitor], and tell me what’s changed since the page I read last week.”
- “Where does [project] stand, and what am I waiting on?”
Check the source on the first answer. If it can’t say where something came from, it didn’t find it.

Questions
Does Cachejay work with Perplexity?
Yes, as a custom remote connector with the URL https://cachejay.com/mcp and OAuth sign-in. Perplexity offers custom connectors on Pro, Max and Enterprise. On Enterprise, an admin may need to allow members to add their own.
Where do I add it?
In Perplexity on the web: Plugins (or Customize › Connectors), then Add custom › Connector › Add MCP connector, and choose Remote.
What can Perplexity read?
What has synced to your Cachejay account: captured screen text and the text read from screenshots, call transcripts and notes, agent sessions, and the day, week and project notes Cachejay writes.
Can Perplexity change anything?
Only if you allow changes when you sign in. Then it can update Cachejay data such as projects, boards, docs, your people list and corrections. Leave it read-only if you only want answers. It never posts to other services through Cachejay.
How do I disconnect it?
Remove the connector from its ⋮ menu in Perplexity. Connect AI Apps › Disconnect All Phone and Web Apps in the Cachejay menu bar revokes every web and phone app at once.
Why use this with Perplexity’s own search?
Perplexity searches the web. Cachejay holds what the web doesn’t have: your calls, what you read and wrote, and where your projects stand. Together, “compare what the vendor told me on Tuesday with their public pricing” is one question.
