Why the capture method matters

A screenshot has everything on it, including the things you didn't mean to share, and you can't take a password out of a picture.

Text can be filtered before it goes anywhere. Cachejay skips password managers and private windows, and masks keys and tokens on your Mac before anything is synced or written up.

Questions

What is Codex Chronicle?

An opt-in research preview from OpenAI, launched in April 2026, that gives the Codex Mac app memory of recent screen activity. It works from screenshots processed on OpenAI’s servers.

Does Cachejay work with Codex?

Yes, over MCP, and with Claude Code, Claude Desktop and Cursor too.

Can I use both?

Yes. They don’t conflict, though you’d have two apps watching your screen.
