Questions

How do I get a timesheet out of Cachejay?

Click Today in the menu bar, then Export Timesheet…. It saves the last seven days as a CSV. For longer, run cachejay time --csv --days 30 or ask Claude for October.

How does it know which client a project is for?

A project is a git repository. Name your repositories after clients and the hours sort themselves.

Does it count time I’m away from the keyboard?

No. It stops when the screen sleeps, locks or sits still.

What if my work isn’t in git?

You still get hours by app and a write-up of each day. Per-client hours need a repository per client.

Can it write the invoice?

It gives you the hours and the work. Claude or ChatGPT can turn that into invoice lines you paste into your invoicing tool.
